B.Y.C. was founded by Capt. Hub Rowntree in 1956. B.Y.C. is situated at 7 Seafarer Road, Bayhead , Durban at the end of the silt Channel in the bay. Membership consists of Full, Single, Senior Family, Senior Single, Country, Students, Cruising and Ordinary membership. The Club House has a T.V. Lounge and Restaurant called THE GALLEY . The friendly staff will prepare your selection from the menu whether it is a breakfast or a lunch. Seating is available in the Galley or the Beer garden and on the lawn under the thatch umbrellas with the beautiful view of the yachts and the activities on beach. At THE WHEELHOUSE one can enjoy the air conditioned pub, a lunch or sit and relax with friends and enjoy the sport of the day on the T.V. The Club also offers facilities for functions. Function hire includes the Braai and Beach areas. For more info contact the B.Y.C. Members, friends and family can enjoy the friendly environment of the swimming pool, the Beach with its Braai facilities and bird life. The B.Y.C. also has many organized functions for eg. Valentine, Halloween, Rock ‘n Roll evening and then the popular Kids Christmas foam party just to name a few. Wednesdays and Saturdays are Braai evenings - the Club supplies the fire. Fishing competitions are held once a month, all members, clubs and visitors welcome. The B.Y.C. has two jetties, one for the use of tenders and the other for boats/yachts.
